The 12-Point Lead Capture Audit explained
Our free checklist covers the 12 elements that separate brochure websites from systems that book appointments. Here's what each point checks — and why it matters.
The 12-Point Lead Capture Audit is the same framework we use internally on every 3C Digital Systems project. It's deliberately more thorough than most paid audits — because the free work is how we prove the paid work will be exceptional.
Each point maps to a real conversion leak we've seen on contractor, trade, and professional service websites. Score yourself honestly on each one.
The 12 points at a glance
- Primary call to action — Is there one clear next step above the fold on every key page?
- Value proposition clarity — Can a first-time visitor explain what you do and who you serve within 5 seconds?
- Trust and credibility signals — Reviews, credentials, service area, and proof matched to how buyers decide.
- Mobile experience — Fast load, readable text, tap-to-call, thumb-friendly forms.
- Lead capture mechanism — Forms that work, are visible, and ask the right qualification questions.
- Instant acknowledgment — Auto-reply the moment someone inquires so they know they're heard.
- After-hours coverage — Something answers or captures leads when you're not available.
- Booking path — Can a ready buyer schedule without phone tag?
- Follow-up system — Unconverted leads get nurtured automatically, not forgotten.
- Speed and performance — Under 3-second load on mobile. Every second costs conversions.
- Search readiness — Titles, descriptions, and content structured for how people search.
- Measurement — You know how many visitors, inquiries, and bookings the site generates.
How to use the audit
Block 15 minutes. Open the PDF. Walk your homepage and contact flow as if you're a customer who found you on Google at 9pm. Mark each point pass, partial, or fail. Three or more fails on Tier 1 items (CTA, forms, acknowledgment, after-hours) means you're likely losing jobs every week.
What the audit doesn't cover
It's focused on lead capture and conversion — not brand aesthetics, advanced SEO campaigns, or paid advertising. Those matter, but they're secondary to fixing the system that turns existing traffic into booked work.
